ICC Chairman Jay Shah to nearly meet with PCB & BCCI on December 14 to resolve Champions Trophy destiny

The schedule for the Champions Trophy ought to have been introduced by November 11 in keeping with ICC’s guidelines, however the BCCI and PCB stalemate has delayed proceedings.

The Champions Trophy 2025 saga will likely come to an end on December 14. According to Cricbuzz, The International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah will virtually meet with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) from Brisbane and officially confirm that the ICC Champions Trophy will be played in a hybrid model.

PCB agrees to Champions Trophy 2025 hybrid model

For the unaware, a new report had emerged a couple of hours ago. It stated that PCB will host the 8-team tournament, but the Indian cricket team will play their matches in Dubai, UAE. The PCB had previously put forth some demands for accepting the hybrid model. Some of these demands have been agreed to, but others have been denied.

Venues for India vs Pakistan matches in 2025 & 2026

The PCB won’t be paid any dues by the ICC for moving five of the fifteen games out of Pakistan. However, they won’t have to play in the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India. The BCCI is the host of the tournament, but the electric India vs Pakistan match in 2026 will instead take place in Colombo.

PCB has also been awarded an ICC women’s tournament. Pakistan will get to host a tournament after 2027. However, like the men’s, the Indian women’s cricket team isn’t expected to play in Pakistan either, and we might see the women’s India vs Pakistan match played in Dubai as well.
